About Us

I grew up doing just about every needlework craft there is, from sewing and knitting to counted cross-stitch and needlepoint, to name a few. So when I attended the Needlework Expo in Toronto, Canada eight years ago while I was on a business trip, it was only natural that I try yet another needlework craft: beading. And with my purchase of a kit to make a peyote stitch amulet bag, I started a new passion that has held its appeal ever since. In November of 2003, I left my corporate job as a mainframe computer programmer to open my own bead shop, so I could surround myself with the colors, creativity and independence in a job that I had always dreamed of.

is a full-service bead shop in Poughkeepsie, New York, where beaders of all
experience levels are welcome. We offer a wide range of classes from those that start at the basics, allowing even the most inexperienced beader to successfully complete a project to those where some prior beading experience is helpful. In addition, private classes are offered if there is a specific technique or project that someone wants to learn that is not currently scheduled.

carries a full selection of Delicas and Japanese seed beads, drops, magatamas, bugles, triangles and cubes. These beads, made by Miyuki, are high-quality glass beads that are very uniform in size and shape, making bead weaving a real joy. In addition, we stock a large selection of Swarovski crystals, vintage beads, semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls and pressed glass beads from the Czech Republic. You will also find pewter charms, books, tools, sterling silver and gold-filled findings and beads in a multitude of shapes and sizes.
